Depict Evaluation

My task was to create a 90 second ultra-short masterpiece to then be entered into the 'DepicT' 2015 competition.

The camerawork that my group and I used in our short clip was very effective in portraying a very exiting and mysterious setting. For example, the extreme close-up shots of the actors faces show the real emotion and make it clear to the audience what is going on and therefore make the audience involved in the video and will make them a certain way about the situation.

The mise-en-scene that was in my clip helped to add  to the effect of the video. Things such as the atmosphere in the coffee shop/canteen helped to add to the crazy type look in the characters behavior and attitude. Also the props in the background such as the drinks fridge add to the setting giving it the effect of it being a normal everyday coffee shop when in fact it has a very different outcome.

The editing my group and I engaged in together gave a very convincing finish product. We used colour correction to enhance the background and to add effect to our piece of work. The continuity cold have done with a little more work as at some points of the clip, you could see that there were some very small minor mistakes made in the shape of the editing not being up to scratch in the shot in the coffee shop of the actor opening the door. Between the two shot taken, you could see that the act.
